Youth Services
ACT’s youth programmes provide a vital service for young people from its serving area; Firvale, Page Hall and Burngreave. The programmes focus on both recreational and educational programmes, designed to engage and support young people at risk of social isolation or underachievement. Key activities include sports sessions, youth clubs, a language school and educational support workshops, offering young people safe spaces to develop skills, build friendships, and improve their overall well-being.
Adult Education
We ensure that the classes we deliver reflect the demands of the learners. we focus on

- • Literacy and numeracy programs
- • Support for career advancement and lifelong learning
Community Language School
ACT hosts around 215 students annually at all levels we focus on:
- • Language courses for non-native speakers
- • Culturally inclusive curriculum
- • Support for integration and communication skills
Older People
Our service is founded on the belief that all people, regardless of their age, should have the same opportunities to experience normal patterns of life within the community and be part of an environment where self-esteem and independence are actively encouraged.
Pre-Shcool
The Pre-school offers free nursery places for eligible children who are between 3- 5 years old and is also part of the 2-year pilot scheme. This means that eligible families may be entitled to 15 hours of free childcare. If you want to check you are eligible, please get in touch with your health visitor.
Advice Centre
The Welfare and Advice Centre has built up a long-standing reputation for the provision of generalist and specialist advice work at the Fir Vale centre, with over 1500 clients annually passing through our doors. We offer advice and guidance on Housing, Immigration, Benefits, Universal Credit, and general translation of letters.
